design is all about making a choice if not a perfect selection… selecting an bringing together the perfect blend of form, material, geometry & color, to create a product that understands the user’s psychology and fulfills his need the considerations in the lighting of fine jewellery, also finds resonance in other areas such as in display lighting for antiques, watches or object’s d'art in crystal, semi precious stones etc. it also extends to museums, exhibitions and shop-front displays. contained within the small spaces of cabinets and display boxes, compact form factor is an over-riding criteria. this is made more complex by the air-tight nature of the space created inside, making heat dissipation difficult. however, the greatest problem lies in the access and aiming of the fixtures. while the access to the light is typically from one side, the viewing of the product is from the opposite side. so one is constantly having to run back and forth to check the effect achieved with every adjustment. with this experience, realization, vexation we ventured forth into design…
